I booked VMT on a whim without really knowing much about the operation and went solo on my trip. Not to sound hyperbolic, but it was one of the best weeks of my life! The conditions were amazing, the facilities were top-notch, and the staff were simply outstanding.
The culture cultivated at VMT is truly something to behold. I knew not a single person before I arrived, but I left with friends I can’t wait to spend more time with. The entire trip was filled with positive vibes—from getting cheered on by fellow guests when dropping in to dancing by the fire at après, VMT keeps the good times rolling.
Food! OMG, the food! Bri, our chef, ski buddy, and baker extraordinaire, made sure our bellies were filled with delicious eats all day and accommodated any dietary restrictions.
I can’t say enough about how positive my experience at VMT was. 10/10—will return again!

We had a fantastic ski week in early December 2024 with Jasmin, Mathieu, Steve, Eric, and Marie. The early December powder far exceeded our expectations, and the VMT staff was one of the warmest and most welcoming crews we’ve ever encountered at a ski lodge. They went above and beyond to accommodate our group’s travel itinerary.
The guides were flexible with the daily plans and transparent in sharing their thought process and backcountry considerations. The terrain was fun and varied—you might even ski in unique spots like a burnt-down forest. The uphill-to-downhill effort ratio was perfect, making every run rewarding.
The meals were incredible, and the lodge ambiance felt like a family reunion. A big bonus for the amazing sauna, delicious lunch snacks, and unlimited Bengal spice tea!

Also wanted to relay what a great team you've got at VMT! That was my first visit and I was thoroughly impressed with the full team. No doubt you've heard many compliments on Lee but he is a true champ... a strong communicator, includes everyone in how he is thinking about the day...serious when he needs to be serious...more relaxed when its appropriate...engaged in the lodge. He and Sophia made a great team. I enjoyed seeing Sophia's character come out thru the week. Small but mighty!! Clearly a leader in her own right! And Eric was a great tail guide, client oriented, helpful and friendly.
Vanessa was awesome...I met her at Skoki...you've got a great hire there! and Stephanie was a rockstar in the kitchen with yummy meals and a warm engaging way about her. The cumulative effect is an awesome team!!! and it made the trip that extra bit unique & special (in contrast to say a cat-ski trip where it feels less personal/hospitable)... on top of the awesome skiing (man did we luck out)!!!
Sincere kudos on your operation, hope you have a strong finish to the season, and I sure hope to be back!

After returning home from a wonderful week of skiing in the Valhalla Mountains, I want to express my overwhelming satisfaction with Valhalla Mountain Lodge. The amenities, including the hot water, showers, and beautiful sauna, were exceptional. I've never experienced such luxury in the mountains.
What truly made the trip memorable was the staff. Guides Lee and David, along with tail guide Moyna, were outstanding. Despite challenging conditions due to prior rain, they led us to the best powder spots. Chef Steph also provided fantastic meals. I appreciate how well-organized everything was; it was simply fantastic.
My heartfelt thanks to you and your staff for providing such a wonderful experience. I look forward to visiting your lodge again.

Hi Jasmin!
I just wanted to reach out and express how grateful I am for you and the staff team at VMT! Their teamwork was impressive and it seemed like across the board everyone was happy to go above and beyond expectations. I’ve been to a handful of lodges now and that’s not normal!
As the lone splitboarder in this group, I kind of expected to be disregarded in some respects (it happens). Lee, Hannah, and Erik were so good about considering me and what I like to ride. They didn’t cut a single traverse that I couldn’t make and there was minimal floundering/wasted energy on my part because of their attentiveness to my needs. I also had a flare up of a very old respiratory condition, I had not needed an inhaler in 8 years, so the one I brought with me expired in 2017. It didn't work, and you all had the foresight to keep an inhaler at the lodge. That saved the trip for me. So thank you so much for that and I'm sorry that I took your inhaler!
While everyone on the team was amazing (Lee is a legend, everyone knows this by now), I want to specifically praise Hannah. She was super professional, very clear and concise in her instructions, always positive, and just brought a great vibe both in the lodge and out skiing. I know she wants to work more at VMT so I’m trying to give her a boost!r.

I would like to thank you and your amazing team for a fantastic week. The skiing, guiding, food and all round experience was truly first class. Maybe we got lucky but we all left anxious to return.
Can you tell me when the 2026 dates will open up? We will likely want to go a little earlier and don’t want to miss the booking window.

Hey Jasmin, just wanted to say thanks again for such an amazing week last week.
I signed up apprehensively having very little experience being guided and knowing just a few people in the group and am soooo glad I did!! I definitely have a fun-hangover but left feeling more inspired than anything!!! You and your entire team (including indie who was soooo adorable doing chores around the lodge ) did such an unbelievable job managing the needs of our group.
You communicated so well with our group and it made me feel safe and allowed for some of the most fun times I’ve ever had on skis! And with the conditions we had I know someone said it well last week, you all are actual magicians, finding us great snow every single day.
Really cool to see what you’ve created w/VMT and I am not surprised it brings together such a powerful and inspiring group. You’re an inspiration and I hope to ski with you again sooner than later!!!

What an awesome custodian addition to the team Vanessa is. We really enjoyed being able to spend time with her both in the lodge and out skiing, and celebrating our birthdays together on Saturday was a fantastic highlight! She is fantastic.
Becky Barstow rocks the food. Although the food on my last trip a couple years ago was absolutely stellar, the food on this trip was next level. And Becky is just so super sweet and we enjoyed getting out with her the time she was able. The flavors, the plating, the portions, the attention to detail, everything was cooked perfectly.
But certainly not least the guides. Reese is my brother from another mother, kidding, sort of kidding since we both have mothers from former Yugoslavia. He was such a wonderful guide. We had one member of our party who didn’t have as much skiing as experiences she probably needed to have and Reese was exemplary in making her feel comfortable and was incredibly patient. And he is hilarious and did an amazing job leading us in a rendition of oh Canada.
Kate Bell. Just wow. Amazing skier super super strong and so funny and cheeky. In a good way. We had tons of fun with Kate and she is super competent. I I really enjoyed getting to know her and watch her work.
All of the shuttle process went smoothly. Alan from Kooteney adventures is super awesome and funny and everybody else was very kind.

We had an amazing time, and I need to give some serious kudos to your staff…. Lee, Kate, and Reece were patient, kind, and professional. Snow was actually quite alright most days, but I’m glad we finally got great snow the last day! Your staff is highly competent and obviously very talented in the mountains.
Additionally, our chef, Becky, was amazing! You all should create a cookbook! Every meal was surprising and a complete treat. She was also a joy to be around.
Vanessa was wonderful as well, very professional, ran things nicely, and was so fun to be around. The buildings were always very clean. What a great crew we had!!!
You have a very special thing going on up there and I hope to make it back some day.

Having said that, I wanted you to know I was absolutely blown away by the guides and the lodge staff; Lee, Kate, Resse, Becky and Vanessa. Each one of them personally made sure I was having a great time, staying safe, and getting the most out of the trip.
Today as I settle back into the real world I am feeling a little emotional about the whole experience. It truly would not have been the same for me without that amazing team and all the care and effort they put into our experience. I am sure you know how great they are but I would be remiss if I didn't write to you personally to say thank you for having such a great team!
This was truly the experience of a lifetime.
